Sony recently released an unboxing video of the upcoming Playstation 4, and man, oh man is it surprisingly similar to Daft Punk’s unboxing of their latest album, Random Access Memories.
You can watch them side-by-side here (thanks YouTube Doubler!)
Did Sony ask permission? Did they need to? Who cares (well I’m sure Daft Punk does)!
In a tweet from Sony Executive, Shuhei Yoshida strongly implies the similarities were intentional.

What is interesting is that the PS4 will include a voucher for Playstation Plus while supplies last. For those of you that don’t know, Sony is pulling a Microsoft and requiring a paid subscription for online play.
Also included in the box is a Quickstart Guide, Dual Shock 4 controller, and HDMI cable!
The PS4 is due out November 15th for $399, but if you haven’t preordered it already, you may have a hard time finding them in stock.
