When the Dragon Bash patch brought our first Dragon Hat to Guild Wars 2, I immediately started planning an armor style that would properly suit the Horns of the Dragon.

My initial ideas were centered around Heavy Armor, but this quickly changed once I noticed the interesting combination of this hat with Light Flame Legion Mantle. I used the Furnace Reward Light coat for more of a dense or ‘knightly’ aesthetic, and the Flame Legion Guard (legs) to match the width of the torso.

The Coloration worked off the constraints of static/undie-able features of the armor combination: The Purple Hooks on the Mantle and the Gold of the Fiery Dragon Sword. Purple and Yellow are a great complementary pair, so I worked on finding shades of both hues to tie together the different armor pieces.

My favorite aspect of this set is the combination of its density and stature; I don’t really feel like a vulnerable ‘light armored’ scholar any more.
