Today, while exhibiting at EGX 2016, Nomad Games announced that their new “tabletop-made-digital” title Smash Up has been confirmed to be releasing on October 6th. The original game, from the tabletop game publisher Alderac Entertainment Group, is a shuffle building card game designed by Paul Peterson.

Players get to choose 2 factions, from a total of 8, and literally smash the 2 factions together to create a new one. For example, you could choose the Dinosaur faction and the Wizard faction which combined would create a faction full of big stompy T-Rex’s played alongside magic spells and ethereal creatures. The aim of the game is to capture bases with your minions which will, in turn, generate victory points. Each base has different point values (and some not as straightforward as they seem) and the first person to reach 15 points wins!

Smash Up will be available on iOS, Android and on Steam and there will be a free version (which will consist of three playable factions) and a full version with all eight factions.
