It’s all too tempting to just stick around on your farm in Stardew Valley, but you need to cultivate your relationships with the other residents of Pelican Town to make the most of your small town farming experience.
Getting the town’s residents to like you isn’t particularly difficult, but it is a time consuming process that requires some effort on your part. You give them gifts they love or like, they’ll like you more. If you give them gifts they dislike or hate, well…it’s not going to help you get on their good side.
Every villager has their own personal list of things they love, like, dislike, and hate — and there are items just about everyone in town agrees on.
These “generic” items are good to keep in mind if you see someone walking about town you want to improve your relationship with and just happen to have them in your inventory. Some villagers have varying opinions on these items — an example being Krobus and Willy disliking cooked food, but in general they are a safe bet.
Here’s a list of generic items in each category. Generic listings like eggs, cooked food, furniture, etc. are italicized. This trend continues in each villager’s listing.
Villagers are listed in alphabetical order with their birthdays. If a category says “Nothing special” refer to the generic item lists.
