Skyrim: How to Get All Dragon Priest Masks

Dragon Priest Masks are some of the best gear in Skyrim. There are ten in the game, each with a unique buff. Most are obtained by killing the incredibly tough Dragon Priests who sport them. In this article, we’ll detail the locations of all ten and the abilities they give you.

All Dragon Priest Mask Map Location

There are ten Dragon Priest Masks in total. All of them are scattered around Skyrim in various dungeons. While you’ll come across a lot of them naturally as you progress through the main story quests or faction quests, you can also go there freely as well. Here’s where you’ll find them all:

• Hevnoraak – Valthume, Southeast of Markarth
• Krosis – Shearpoint, Northeast of Whiterun
• Morokei – Labyrinthian, Southeast of Morthal
• Nahkriin – Skuldafn, Northeast of Riften
• Otar – Ragnvald, North of Markarth
• Rahgot – Forelhost, Southeast of Riften
• Vokun – High Gate, West of Dawnstar
• Volsung – Volskygge, West of Solitude
• Wooden Mask – Labyrinthian, Southeast of Morthal
• Konahrik – Labyrinthian, Southeast of Morthal

How to Get All Dragon Priest Masks in Skyrim

Finding the location of the masks is only the first step to acquiring them. You’ll need to face the Dragon Priests wearing the masks and defeat them to claim it for yourself. Each Dragon Priest has different magical abilities and strengths that their masks provide. Follow the steps below to get each one.

Hevnoraak

The first mask can be obtained by killing Hevnoraak, who is found in the ruins of Valthume, southeast of Markarth.

To launch the quest to find this priest, talk to Valdar at the entrance of Valthume. You’ll encounter Hevnoraak along the way. Before you can tread deep enough into the ruins to find him, you must first complete the “Evil in Waiting” side quest. This mask will grant you immunity to Poison and Disease.

Krosis

To get the Krosis mask, you will have to kill Krosis the Dragon Priest. You simultaneously fight a dragon. As you might expect, this is no easy feat. Once you feel that you are leveled high enough to tackle an encounter like this one, head to Shearpoint, west of Windhelm, and enter the dragon lair. This mask will increase your Lockpicking, Archery, and Alchemy skills by 20%.

Morokei

This mask is among the easier ones to obtain. Morokei is located in the Labyrinthian ruins, southeast of Morthal.

Enter these ruins and traverse your way through the dungeon to find and slay him. This mask will give you a 100% boost of your Magicka Regeneration.

Nahkriin

This priest can not be found until you’ve reached the “The World-Eater’s Eyrie” quest, which is a main quest in the Skyrim story. During this story, you will travel to Skuldafn, an area that is strictly accessible during this quest.

After completing the Skuldafn puzzles, a bit further into the quest, you will encounter Nahkriin alongside two dragons. Kill him to claim his mask, which will grant you a 50% boost to Magicka and a 20% cost reduction on Restoration and Destruction Magicka.

Otar

In the ruins of Ragnvald, northeast of Markarth, you can find Otar the Mad. Much like the Morokei mask, all you need to do is fight your way through the dungeon to reach Otar, who is the final boss. His mask will give you a 30% boost in resistance to Fire, Shock, and Frost.

Rahgot

To find Rahgot, make your way to Riften, then head southeast to the ruins of Forelhost. When you approach these ruins, you will spark the “Siege on the Dragon Cult” quest after a soldier approaches you. Carry out this quest and complete the necessary objectives, and you will eventually fight Rahgot and claim his mask. This mask gives you a 70% boost to Stamina.

Vokun

For this mask, you will need to carry out the “A Scroll for Anska” quest, which features Vokun as the boss at the very end. To get this quest, head to the High Gate ruins that are west of Dawnstar and enter the dungeon. Here, you will find Anska, who will give you the quest.

Make your way to the end of it and defeat the Dragon Priest to earn the mask, which will give you a 20% cost reduction for Illusion, Alteration, and Conjuration Magicka.

Volsung

This is another one of the more straightforward masks to obtain. West of Solitude, in the Volskygge ruins, is the Dragon Priest Volsung. Hack and slash your way through the ruins to reach the priest and defeat him to claim his mask as your own.

This mask will increase your carry limit by 20 points, allow you to breathe underwater, and grant you 20% discounts through Fortify Barter.

Wooden Mask

This is a unique mask in that it does not require you to kill a priest to obtain it, and it doesn’t grant you any buffs. It does, however, act as a key to the Dragon Priest Shrine. This mask can be found in the Labyrinthian ruins, in the central barrow. You’ll find it a pile of bones rather than having to fight for it.

Konahrik

Last but certainly not least, the Konahrik mask is rewarded to players for collecting each of the other nine masks. The entrance to the shrine is located in the same barrow as the Wooden Mask, Labyrinthian. To get in, you must place all masks onto the Dragon Priest Shrine while wearing the Wooden Mask. This mask gives you a chance to heal when low on health by stealing the health from nearby enemies.
