The Blast Furnace is twice as efficient as the regular old one, meaning you’ll want to get some Smooth Stone for sure. In this guide we’ll go over how to make Smooth Stone so you don’t have to go looking for it.

How to Make Smooth Stone in Minecraft

• Smooth Stone is used to craft the Blast Furnace as well as Smooth Stone Slabs.
• You can choose to either seek it out, or you can make it yourself in a pinch.
• Smooth Stone blocks must be mined with a pickaxe, if you happen to see them around.

Smooth Stone blocks generate naturally and can be mined using a pickaxe, and they can be found inside mason villager chests. Both options are well and fine, but I find the easiest way to get this crafting item is to simply smelt it using the recipe below.

Smooth Stone Crafting Recipe

You will need a Furnace to smelt Smooth Stone. The recipe when using a Furnace is as follows:

• 1 Stone
• 1 Charcoal

If you don’t have Stone but you do have a bunch of Cobblestone, you can smelt the Cobblestone into regular Stone at a Furnace using the following recipe:

• 1 Cobblestone
• 1 Charcoal
