  • Smooth Stone is used to craft the Blast Furnace as well as Smooth Stone Slabs.
  • You can choose to either seek it out, or you can make it yourself in a pinch.
  • Smooth Stone blocks must be mined with a pickaxe, if you happen to see them around.

Smooth Stone blocks generate naturally and can be mined using a pickaxe, and they can be found inside mason villager chests. Both options are well and fine, but I find the easiest way to get this crafting item is to simply smelt it using the recipe below.
