What’s a 7-Year-Old’s Favorite Game? (INTERVIEW)

Olivia Lassner Age: 7 almost 8; Grade: 2 (Interview done via FaceTime)

Alexa: Hi Olivia! So in your brother’s interview he tells me you have nightmares of the bad guys in Minecraft, is this true?

Olivia: Yes.

Jacob: —She once had to sleep in my room!

Alexa: So tell us, what kind of games do you enjoy playing?

Olivia: I like to play dress-up games and adventure games.

Alexa: Which platform do you enjoy playing on?

Olivia: On the iPad.

Alexa: Why?

Olivia: Because it is bigger than the iPod touch and the experience is better because you can use your fingers to move things around easier.

Alexa: What’s your favorite game?

Olivia: My favorite game is a dress-up game. So you put—it’s like a spa game!

Alexa: What’s it called?

Olivia: It’s called High School Makeover.

Alexa: What do you like about the game?

Olivia: I like that you get to pick a girl you like and dress her up any way you want.

Alexa: So, tell us about the picture you took.

Olivia: This is a picture of the girl I chose with stuff on her face—I don’t know what it’s called.

Alexa: What’s your favorite thing to do in the game?

Olivia: I like how you can choose the color of what you want to put on her face and how you get to choose the color of her hair.

Alexa: If you can choose something to change or improve in the game, what would it be?

Olivia: That you can put cucumbers on their eyes and stuff like that. I would also like there to be a Princess version of the game.

 Alexa: So, what’s the other picture you have here for us?

Olivia: This is one of my characters. She is all done getting dressed and getting her makeup done. She looks really pretty.
