Well, World of Warcraft and Diablo fans, looks like there might be something extra special to look forward to at BlizzCon this year! Blizzard Entertainment has recently filed a trademark application for something called “Heroes of the Storm.”
Not much is known about this yet, but the trademark application covers the following:
“Computer game software, computer game discs, downloadable computer game software, computer game software downloadable from a global computer network, interactive multimedia computer game program; Downloadable electronic game software for use on portable electronic devices such as mobile and cellular phones, laptops, handheld computers, and tablet PCs.”
Hopefully, some more information will be released soon, but it’s most likely that Blizzard will wait for BlizzCon to make an announcement. The convention will be held from November 8-9 in Anaheim, California. Just 39 more days to go!
Of course, just because something has been trademarked (or an application has been filed for a trademark) does not mean that the project will come to fruition. Only time will tell if what “Heroes of the Storm” is or if it will even exist at all. Nevertheless, it’s still exciting, and I, for one, am looking forward to learning more about this project.
The application was filed on September 24, and is available on the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) website.
