After weeks of teasing from Niantic and datamining revelations, Pokémon GO has officially released information on the second generation addition of pokémon.
Not all of gen two will be released immediately, but Togepi, Pichu, and a few others are now available to hatch from eggs starting earlier today. Hatching these little monsters seems like a good idea for introducing them since they are the “baby” versions of other pokémon, but it’s not clear if that was an intentional decision.
Regardless, the additions are nice and will definitely add to the game. We just have to wait for the rest of the Gold/Silver pokémon to be released later this month!
In addition to the release, Pokémon GO is also including limited edition Pikachu players can take photos with. These festive buddies come with little hats to celebrate the holidays and the update.
While this is definitely the biggest update Pokémon GO has been planning, there’s sure to be more features and events to follow!
