Lay down those pitchforks, fellow Final Fantasy XIV players! We may just be getting the smooth login experience we’ve all been waiting for come Wednesday, if luck is on our side.
Naoki Yoshida gave an update to the server capacity situation via forum post, outlining the current server status and the process they are undertaking to take down the dreaded 1017 error.
The Final Fantasy XIV team is currently working on adjustments to the duty finder servers and adding new worlds, both of which intended to be added on Wednesday provided the internal testing taking place Monday and Tuesday goes well.
Free play time!
If you’ve been out of the loop for a few days, Naoki Yoshida promised players a 3 day extension on their free period. After this upcoming maintenance, players will receive 7 additional days of free play time. This 7 day period will be applied to both standard and Legacy accounts, but whether or not these durations stack is yet to be announced.
Do note that if this maintenance takes place, it will do so on Wednesday in Japanese time. This means the maintenance may begin late Tuesday night for North America and Europe, depending on the exact time it begins. Let’s hope the internal testing goes well.
