Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate Is Perfect for Bridgeton Fans

Evie Frye and her twin Jacob take you through Victorian London. From Big Ben to Jack the Ripper, you can live your Bridgerton dreams.

You cannot walk into a bookstore or log into a streaming service without seeing Bridgerton. It has captured a fan base for books, a hit Netflix series, and even made it to some fanfiction and art areas of the internet. Though not specifically the Regency era of history, the often-overlooked Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate evokes similar themes. If you’re a fan of Bridgerton, here are some reasons Syndicate may be worth a look.

Syndicate Explores the Social Circles of 1868’s London

One of the most intriguing things about Bridgerton is the social circles. The politics, manners, and social intrigue drive the show. The same is true for Syndicate. Many quests deal with the gangs found in 1868 London. However, once you begin these quests and delve deeper into their backstories, you start seeing the social circles driving them.

The game connects people and events from the top of the class system in London to the poorest areas. The choices and events in higher-level social circles can change the entire economy and the people within it. This connection will seem very familiar to Bridgerton fans, especially when playing as Evie Frye and her building relationship with Henry.

Syndicate Offers Immersive Historical Events

Bridgerton ties its events into the history of the Regency era. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate achieves the same goal, although just a tad later in the timeline. In previous Assassin’s Creed installments, gamers meet historical figures from the time. In Syndicate, the historical figures play a heavier role in the game and give more insight into the drama and society that drove that period. For example, you can meet Charles Dickens, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Karl Marx, to name a few. If you have the DLC, you can also play through an interesting take on Jack the Ripper.

Captivating London Scenery and Locations

Assassin’s Creed is known for its historical accuracy of game scenery and locations. Syndicate takes place within London and the surrounding suburbs. Since the game is open-world, you can explore the streets of London, from the factory districts to the housing areas. You can also see the Thames River and take part in the bar scene.

You can see how steampunk could have taken hold by running the quests dealing with steam-powered trains and the emergence of new engineering that would ultimately eliminate steam power. Many believe this change, though powerful for industry, destroyed much of the romance and intrigue of the Regency and Victorian periods.

Bridgerton has opened a new world of history and context to many people. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate offers a deeper dive into a similar world. You gain the chance to live the intrigue, drama, society, and politics found within the Bridgerton universe. You can deepen your knowledge and expand your love of Bridgerton into a true gaming period piece.
