There are a number of life and farm simulation games gracing the market. However, none of them have made the same impact as Stardew Valley. However, various titles have the same style or cozy vibes that it gives off. Here are the 10 best games like Stardew Valley.
Top 10 Games to Play if You Like Stardew Valley
The following games are the best to check out if you’re looking for a Stardew Valley replacement. They’re not in any particular order, so you don’t need to focus on one game over the other.
- Coral Island
- Animal Crossing New Horizons
- Disney Dreamlight Valley
- Palia
- Fae Farm
- Travellers Rest
- Paleo Pines
- Sun Haven
- Rune Factory 3 Special
- Spirttea
Coral Island
Coral Island is an indie title most similar to Stardew Valley and one of my favorite titles on the list. You buy a farm on the island, befriend the villagers, and take out a corporation. What differs is CI allows you to dive underwater, care for the coral reef, and interact with mermaids. There’s even a mermaid town you can discover, with the dev team working on adding some of the main mermaid characters as romance options.
Animal Crossing New Horizons
We all know how comfy and cozy Animal Crossing New Horizons is. Along with being able to decorate your island, and grow plants, you also make friends with the various villagers in the game. It focuses more on the social aspects than SDV, but there are plenty of items to craft and bugs to catch.
Disney Dreamlight Valley
If you’re looking for a cozy title filled with your favorite Disney characters, Disney Dreamlight Valley is it. You’re able to befriend princesses, explore the various magical realms, and decorate your very own Disney home. New content is consistently being added from their extensive catalogue. It’s also a great family-friendly title for those looking at a game their children may enjoy, as well.
Palia
This free-to-play, multiplayer game is another personal favorite. It’s also the most dissimilar to Stardew Valley in appearance and gameplay, but hits all the same cozy and relaxing vibes. Palia is filled with villagers to get to know, plenty of romance, a plot to design and grow plants on, and various areas to explore. There’s also a ton of quests, weekly challenges, and frequent updates to keep things fresh.
Fae Farm
Another multiplayer title, Fae Farm, is a simulation game mixed with RPG-style quests. You get to explore a magical world, tend to various fantastical creatures, and enchant all you can. With staff in hand, you can learn a variety of skills, engage in combat with spells, go fishing, or try to romance one of the eligible characters.
Travellers Rest
Travellers Rest is a pixel style, shop management game where you’re trying to own the best tavern around. It features a similar art design as Stardew Valley, but is definitely for those that rather manage their crops and make a profit than go mining or fishing. You do get to decorate your tavern and explore the world it’s in, but completing customer orders satisfactorily is the focus.
Paleo Pines
If you wanted more than just a dinosaur in a coop, Paleo Pines is the title you want to check out. Not only can you have an extensive farm, you can tame various dinos to help you maintain it. There’s also a mystery of the missing Parasaurolophus that needs to be solved and townsfolk to make friends with.
Sun Haven
A pixel, multiplayer title, Sun Haven has you farming in a world cursed by dark magic. Instead of only having one farm, you’re able to care for animals and grow plants in three different cities. There are a variety of crafting stations, including jewelry-making, and combat involves weapons and magic. Similar to Stardew Valley it has a museum to stock and villagers to romance.
Rune Factory 3 Special
Originally released in 2009, the remake brought the title to modern platforms and Steam. The Rune Factory franchise was the first to add mining enemies to farm simulation games, which is now a staple of the genre. Rune Factory 3 Special even has a “Hell” mode for those looking for more challenging gameplay.
Spirittea
Instead of reviving a rundown farm, you’ll be put in charge of a forgotten bathhouse in Spirittea. Bring it back up to code while you solve the problems of the local ghosts. You’ll provide them with the perfect temperature bath water, snacks, and a nice scrub worthy of Spirited Away. There are living villagers to make friends with and a whole town to explore. It also has pixel graphics if that’s what you’re into.
Those are the 10 best games like Stardew Valley to try out. Whether you’re looking for titles to play with friends, something with pixel graphics, or just love farm sims, one of these games is perfect.
