Can Your Pet Play Games With You? Bored Pet? – INS4NITY W00F

Pets Gaming! Bored pets solved!
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

We live in a world where pets are a commodity–hundreds of animals, from reptiles to cats and dogs, even hamsters! Though there has always been an issue regarding pet stimulation.

Of course, we all want to keep our pets happy, right? But the problem in today’s world is that we are always working. Pets are growing bored with our 9-5 schedule, then the fact we come home, and we are too busy to spend time with them with chores like cooking, cleaning and all sorts. So whilst we are out or busy, we try to keep the occupied. We put on the telly for them to watch, or the radio so they can have something to do. The problem is even then they get used to sitting there and watching it, and with that accustomed nature your pet ends up getting a lazy unstimulated personality.

And it’s heartbreaking to see these cute animals sat at home whilst we do our nine till five, yawning their furry butts off because we are not there to play with them and provide the stimulation they need to enjoy themselves. I guess this makes a change from my usual articles, but I’d like to propose something to any would-be game developers. Cats, dogs, they’re all bored, and we know it.

The gaming industry is there to entertain, right? Why not entertain them? We know full well from my header video that animals are capable of gaming to some basic extent. Even if its just catching mice on a tablet. But even then, it’s on a tablet. They’re bored, after a while, right?

They’re still sat around a tablet, not really moving much.

Then I saw this video and a big hefty metaphorical light bulb appeared over my head.

Cats, dogs, animals, they all love to chase about and play. Catching mice, or other things.

With this, your living room becomes your game-screen. Now if only we had the technology to have cats, for example, have a controller, their paws don’t help things. There is a significant lack of thumbs here, right?  Oh wait.

We do…

Then we wonder, we can’t simply leave the television, a projector and the Kinect on, right?

Most domestic pets wear collars–maybe a tag? In an age of motion sensing, tracking and the like, you could simply have all three of them turn on when your pet enters the room. Voila, cats and dogs are now chasing virtual mice across the room, being stimulated and enjoying themselves whilst they are locked inside and you are at work or busy in the other room. Cat or dog gets bored, they walk out, it turns off.

Hey presto, now you have healthy animals playing and enjoying themselves and exercising. Much better than being sat on the couch listening to the radio, or staring out of the window, right? We have the technology to do this, we have the market for pet owners across the globe.

So, why isn’t it done?

Yeah Microsoft, you steal this, I’m suing you unless I get decent compensation for my idea. Woop!

This has been INS4NITY W00F Wondering why a broad available market isn’t covered.

Insanity wolf is a meme designed to be outlandish and offensive. With that in mind, the role partook in any of my comments are done entirely from this -Fictional- Characters perspective and does not coincide with any of my own views.
