Triforce Welcome Mat

 What you'll need:
  • Plain Welcome Mat
  • Paper, Cardboard, (or anything you can cut a stencil out of)
  • Yellow Acrylic Paint
  • Sponge Brush or Paint Brush
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
How you'll do it:
  1. Acquire a plain door mat like this one
  2. Use your ruler to measure equal sides of the triangles to create the perfect triforce (it helps to trace it with pencil before you cut.)
  3. Dip your paintbrush in your paint and carefully fill in your stencil.
  4. Repeat this process until you cover the entire mat.
  5. Once dry, add another coat for a bolder color.

All the other welcome mats will be jealous. Not to mention your friends.

Triforce Pillow

What you'll need:
How you'll do it:
  1. Cut out 3 equal triangles from your gold/yellow fabric.
  2. Place the iron-on adhesive strips between the yellow and green fabric.
  3. Apply heat and pressure with your iron until the fabrics are bonded together.
  4. Enjoy your new decoration!

This one is perhaps one of the easier DIYs. If sewing is more compelling for you than ironing, you could easily sew the triangles instead. If you're feeling really adventurous you can sew the entire pillow and stuff it yourself!

Zelda Key Holder

How you'll do it:
  1. Paint the entire wooden plaque black.
  2. Apply an even coat of Mod Podge to the top of the plaque.
  3. Print out the image above and apply a layer of Mod Podge to the back.
  4. Place the image on the plaque and smooth out any air bubbles.
  5. Once dry, apply another coat of Mod Podge across the top to seal the image in place.
  6. Gently and carefully screw the hooks into the plaque.
  7. Attach the plaque to the wall with the mounting tape.

You can do this project with virtually any high resolution picture you can find! Let your imagination run wild, and customize your home with all kinds of nerdy decorations. For example, with some Mario and Pokemon ideas.
