Attending a Video Games Live concert is a dream for many gamers. Gaming music is awesome to begin with, but imagine hearing it played by a full orchestra. Sounds pretty sweet, doesn’t it?
Well, Video Games Live is asking for help from the fans; our help.
They’re hosting a Kickstarter to fund their third album, “Level 3”. Various video game music composers are joining forces to create a studio recording and, if we’re lucky, a movie.
The goal of the Kickstarter is $250,000. So far, they have accumulated $127,481 in pledges, and only 16 days remain. The minimum pledge is just $1, but there are various rewards for those who donate more money, starting at $5 and going up to $10,000. They range from having your name in the credits to a “framed, Platinum Record of the album customized with YOUR NAME.” How cool is that?
“Level 3” will include music from game franchises such as Final Fantasy, Donkey Kong Country, Pokémon, Zelda, Mario, Skyrim, Mass Effect, and many, many more. If all goes according to plan, the album should be released on February 18, 2014.
