Last of Us Re-Imagined as a TV Series is Just Brilliant

If you ever wanted to see Last of Us imagined as a TV series, you're going to smile after reading this.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s 2015 and chances are, if you’re a gamer or just someone that’s been remotely interested in gaming for the past year or so, you’ve probably heard of Last of Us – the critically acclaimed game from the makers of the Uncharted series, Naughty Dog.

The Last of Us is one of those games that’s so focused on the narrative, you just wish that it was re-imagined as a TV series or mini-series without much of the gameplay. If you’ve ever wanted to just “watch” the Last of Us in all it’s narrative glory, Grant Voegtle, an obvious fan of the game, has done just that.

He’s made a playthrough series on the game, all fully edited to make the game look like an actual TV show – and a pretty good one at that. It makes you wonder: what if HBO or AMC decides to pick this idea up and make a proper live-action mini series, something along the lines of Band of Brothers, perhaps?

This project is a testament to the fanbase that Naughty Dog has amassed with their post-apocalyptic masterpiece

Personally speaking, this is a great way for people who are interested in the story of Last of Us but are too lazy or too busy to play the game. Admittedly, playing the game makes the story a whole lot more interactive and immersive, but just watching Voegtle’s videos is enough to give an idea of what it’s like. It’s great to see such high-quality work from the game’s fans.

Not convinced? Check out the cinematic trailer. If you want to see the whole series, it’s available on YouTube

I've been playing games since I was small but only started to really observe and critique a few years back. Been writing reviews for games (albeit, old games because not everyone can have a crazy fast rig). When I'm not writing about games, I generally do some photography as well, so check that out if you've got some time.
