With only 39 hours left to go, it looks like Video Games Live’s Kickstarter is going to be a success. At the moment, $248,664 of the $250,000 goal has been pledged, and donations keep rolling in. It seems we’ll be getting to “Level 3” in no time.
In a show of confidence, VGL has announced that they will be streaming live on Twitch to celebrate “the crossing of the finish line.” A time will be announced some point in the (very) near future.
But that’s not the best part.
Guys, Valve is on board with this. Not only will “Level 3” feature music from DOTA 2, but Tommy Tallarico collaborated with Valve Composer Tim Larkin on the arrangement. The YouTube video at the top of this article features its world premiere that was broadcast over Twitch to over 330,000 viewers.
Also, a live version of “Still Alive” from Portal will be on “Level 3”. The song will be recorded in South America when Video Games Live stops there on their upcoming tour. Every performance will be recorded and evaluated. The best one will be on the album.
But wait! There’s more!
Peter Hollens, a YouTube sensation probably best known for his collaborations with Lindsey Stirling, will be making his never-before heard version of “Still Alive” available on the “Video Games Live: BONUS ROUND” album. This album is only available to supporters who have pledged at least $5 to the Kickstarter, so get donating if you don’t want to miss out on this awesome prize!
If you’re looking for more ways to help out VGL, Intellivision is selling a light-up Running Man t-shirt, and a portion of those profits will be donated to the “Level 3” Kickstarter. The sale ends Friday, so buy it while you can!
UPDATE: And it’s official! Video Games Live’s Kickstarter has reached its $250,000 goal! Tommy Tallarico is live right now on Twitch, celebrating this success! Head on over to check it out!
