Nintendo knows a good thing when they see it and this time it’s the Mario Party franchise that Nintendo’s printing money with. I started with the original Mario Party for the N64 and since then the franchise has built on what made Mario Party fun. Mario Party 10 was shown off at last year’s E3 and tries to add a new dimension of game play, the Bowser Party! One player gets to play as Bowser and be the King of the Koopas, trying to take down the Mario Bros.
Nintendo should be very proud of their party game series and by the sale figures, the fans are happy too. The Mario Party series has sold almost 40 million units since the original debuted on the Nintendo 64. Mario Party 10 will add to these sale figures when it releases next month. The Amiibo factor could/should add to the stats with the figures, along with the “potentially exclusive to Walmart” Gold Mario Amiibo being released along the Wii U game. It should be interesting to see what, if any, Game Pad features other than the Amiibo connection Nintendo brings to the game.
