It’s that time of the week when you need a pick-me-up to get through and what better way than with the Recappers, giving you that extra push to make it! Let’s get right into it!
One of the bigger stories this week was the report of the West Coast port strike that made it difficult to import supplies from Asia into the States.
This was reported as a major reason why New 3DS systems and Amiibo have been so tough to come by. Nintendo has since confirmed that the strike is part of the issue.
However, there is hope on the horizon. This week, the strike was resolved, and the supply of Amiibo and 3DS systems should go back to normal. That’s good news for all the people who have become Amiibo Hunters and need a few more figures to collect (read: give a purpose for their existence)!
Amiibo will do more than just look pretty on your desk/shelf. Nintendo has announced that the figures will open shorter versions of the games that go with the Amiibo on the Wii U soon.
You’ll need to download the application that goes with it, and there will only be short, demo-like versions of the games – but if you haven’t played the games before, this is a good way to try without having to buy.
Twitch also revealed this week that they will be having a convention-type event in San Fransisco in September called Twitchcon.
Like most conventions, people will be able to meet their favorite show hosts and see things that they wouldn’t normally get to see while watching the shows online.
Onto the Amiibo portion of the program that you guys love and it was another good week for Amiibo. Mega Man, the super fighting robot, arrived at my house this week and it just goes to show that timing is everything. I went to the Wal-Mart website, because I had heard Mega Man was available and at first glance, I had missed it. Then I went back a little later and it was available so I grabbed him. Mega Man is probably going to be one of the more sought after Amiibo since everyone loves Mega Man!
It was also revealed that the Gold Mario Amiibo looks to be a Wal-Mart exclusive so anyone who wants to get their hands on that will only be able to do so at Wal-Mart. On the plus side, it looks like more Mega Man and Sonic have been seen at Wal-Mart so there’s hope for the Amiibo Hunters out there!
That’s gonna do it for another Recappers. See what you’ve been missing and make sure to tune in again next week for a recap of the week that was!
