Styling the robo-assassin look, lightly armoured to reflect my two sword melee build, as I prefer armour sets that look more subtle and practical than the flames, neon and lights that accompany so many high-end armour sets in video games. I feel the set offers a very different alternative to the usual fine-silk flamboyant of mesmers. The set is somewhat inspired by the character Ruprecht Kroenen from the Hellboy comics. The outfit is made up of the Sorrow’s Embrace helmet, the Profane chest, gloves and legs from the gem store, finished with the armoured boots again from Sorrow’s Embrace. The shoulders, that use the Profane skin also, are hidden to add a sleek, tight look to the ensemble. The colour scheme is made up of the complementary metal shades Pitch and Gunmetal, giving the harder, steel looking parts of the armour an aged, weathered look, fitting considering how long I’ve been wearing this outfit. Finally, the metal framework is undertoned by Midnight Sky on the softer textures to complement the night-blue hues of the dual Glyphic Edge swords.
