The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is an all new installment to the XCOM Franchise. This new trailer gives a look at the beginning of the game, and a little more insight into Agent Carter. This new addition to the series has a lot of fans in an uproar that it is a strategic FPS, but from what I have seen the story and the gameplay look like a step in the right direction.
This new installment will be a prequel to the other games, going through and explaining how XCOM got started. The trailer starts out on October 28th 1962, in a secret government meeting where the director of the NSA informs them of an alien artifact found in a mine in Montana. The trailer then introduces our main protagonist Special Agent William Carter, sitting in his hotel room drinking and smoking. A military woman enters the room, reveals herself to be an alien, and shit proceeds to hit the fan.
What we see of the gameplay looks like a first person shooter and a strategy game had a baby. Not only will you be running and gunning like a FPS, but you also have to make tactical decisions about where to place yourself and your troops very similar to XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I am very excited to get my hands on this game, I have loved all of the XCOM games so far and this one looks like it might be the best.
You will be able to pick up The Bureau: XCOM Declassified on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the PC on August 20th. Not only am I hyped for this game but 2k games have been tweeting little alien related tidbits, constantly teasing us for this game. Below are a few of the tweets and if you wanna check them all out go to their official Twitter page.
