This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Yokai Watch 2 is coming out soon for the Nintendo 3DS, and this time there are 2 versions to choose from: Fleshy Souls and Bony Spirits. These can also be referred to as as Gold (Fleshy Souls) and Silver (Bony Spirits).

Like the Pokemon series, the only significant differences between the 2 versions is which Yokai you can get. There are also pre-order bonuses, so keep that in mind if you decide to get one or both of these games.

I’ll list the versions exclusives, and gives links so you can see what they look like, to help you decide which version to get if you are on the fence.

Version Exclusives

Pre-order Bonus

Each version has their own pre-order exclusive as well. This is also different depending on whether you get a physical or digital copy.

The physical copies come with a medal you can scan in the game to get a new soultimate move for Jibanyan.

Below are the Yokai you get if you pre-order a digital copy of each.

Fleshy Souls
  • Sailornyan
Bony Spirits
  • Robonyan F

Yokai Exclusives

  • Kyubi
  • Wydeawake
  • Toadal Dude
  • Kantetsu
  • Count Zapaway
  • Zappary
  • Hiraishin
  • SV Snaggerjag (Boss)

One thing to keep in mind if you are still having trouble deciding, is that Slimamander, a Bony Spirits exclusive, is a great Yokai to use in player battles. You can trade in this game, but certain Yokai like Slimamander are hard to get.

That’s it for the differences between Yokai Watch 2 Fleshy Souls and Bony Spirits. Let me know if you have any questions!
