What’s Your Role?
“I’ve got some free time? Oh, I know, I’ll play some League of Legends! What a grand game. The best MOBA there is! Press Play and here we are, let’s queue up for a 5v5. This is going to be just swell!”
30 seconds later. The champion select screen. Interior.

3: “Mid”
3: “I called it first!”
2: “NO. I DID NOOB. I’M THE BEST MID NA. LOOK ME UP ON LOLKING BRO.”
1. “…..support.”
I love this game, but I detest about 80% the people who play League of Legends because of crap like this. The community is typically pretty terrible because people are so bent on getting that one role they want. But what does your role say about you? Let’s take a look.
Mid
You want to control the battle. You might be a bit of a control freak, if we’re honest. Whether you are an assassin or a CC machine, you manipulate the tide of the fight. During laning phase you harass and push so you can roam the top or bottom of the map, ganking and helping secure objectives and buffs. In team fights you try to free yourself up to unload you devastating combo moves.
Top
You are independent, the best player on the team, and you’ll have to carry these noobs. In team fights, you’re likely a tanky bruiser who will be the buffer between your enemies and your squishies. You are brash, want to make plays, and can last hit all day long.
Jungle
Someone is going to have to make plays for these scrubs, right? That someone might as well be you. You’ve played this game long enough to know how to exploit each lane champion’s weaknesses for the best gank possible. You make the plays, get kills for your team, secure objectives, and show up at just the right time to counter gank. Oh, and in case you forgot: you ward.
Attack Damage Carry
You bide your time. You are patient and reserved but know how to unleash the pain the second you get the chance. You sit and you farm until your enemy slips up, or your support makes a move, and then…well, things get a bit messy. You are an expert at farming under pressure and a master of positioning. When a team fight rolls around, you don’t rush in like an idiot, you shoot as you move and wait for the perfect moment to unload your ultimate. They don’t call you a “carry” for nothing.
Support
You’re probably the nicest person on the team and you just want everyone to do well. You protect your numbskull teammates by peeling away enemies, speeding up your friends, and warding more than you should have to. The rest of the team thinks they make all the plays, but your buffs, debuffs, and auras (and wards!) do more work than they realize. It’s OK though, you go on, unappreciated, knowing that your warding mind-games won you the game.
Did I mention that you ward? Because you do that. You ward.
