Death Stranding on PC has been delayed. Kojima Productions confirmed the delay. The new release date is July 14 for Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The news comes from both an official tweet by Kojima Productions, as well as an update shared to the game’s Steam page (both via Rock, Paper, Shotgun).
The delay is reportedly in direct correlation to the Kojima Productions team currently working from home.
Following the temporary closure of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS, we have had to delay the PC launch of DEATH STRANDING to July 14, 2020, to allow more development time amidst the current work-from-home orders in place. Though Death Stranding received rave reviews from many outlets, others, including GameSkinny, weren’t as smitten by the title. However, despite our less-than-flattering review, we certainly think that Death Stranding is a game worth experiencing.
Though it’s unfortunate that those on PC will have to wait a little while longer to experience Sam’s journey, it’s good to see yet another developer doing what’s best for their team, especially during a global outbreak. The game joins a handful of other video games that have been pushed back due to COVID-19, including The Last of Us 2 and Wasteland 3.
Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more on Death Stranding for PC, as well as Kojima Productions.
