After conquering the Stolen Lands and becoming the lord of your own kingdom in Pathfinder: Kingmaker, another player-favorite adventure path is about to make the leap from the written page to the digital realm. Owlcat Games will launch the official Kickstarter campaign for Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous on February 4.
Instead of conquering a wilderness and dealing with fey creatures from the First World, this time around, the player will be tasked with leading a crusade against the demonic Worldwound.
Building off the kingdom management system of the previous game, Wrath Of The Righteous will utilize the new Crusade Commander feature for raising and maintaining an army. Like the tabletop adventure, Wrath will include the Mythic power rules.
Owlcat Games Creative Director, Alexander Mishulin, commented on the upcoming new entry:
Players will have to carefully consider each decision they make as they lead the crusade. Recruiting and upgrading one’s armies, capturing and holding strategic points, and exploring ancient ruins to find powerful artifacts are just a few of the many activities that require one’s undivided attention.
Of course, companions will try their best to help. We listened to the feedback on the kingdom building and acted upon it to make the most captivating crusade experience possible.
Although we know combat will be real-time with pause rather than turn-based, there’s no indication as to whether the new second edition Pathfinder rules will be utilized. The original Wrath Of The Righteous tabletop adventure path started in 2013, well before the second edition was released.
Was Wrath Of The Righteous the adventure path you were hoping would make the leap to PC next? Let us know if you plan on backing the Kickstarter, or if you’d rather see a different path get its own video game down the line!
