NIS America announced four Trails games for localization over the next two years during a Nihon Falcom 40th anniversary livestream celebration. Those Trail games include Hajimari no Kiseki, now called Trails Into Reverie, in addition to the previously unlocalized Trails to Zero, Trails to Azure and The Legend of Nayuta (Nayuta no Kiseki).
NIS America also announced it will be using the Geofront fan translation group’s text as a basis for Zero and Azure.
Each game will release simultaneously on PlayStation 4, PC via GOG, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch.
Here’s when to expect each one.
Trails Into Reverie Release Date
Reverie is planned for a 2023 release date. There’s no indication when in 2023 it might happen, though it would make sense to see a fall 2023 release date.
Trails to Zero Western Release Date and Trails to Azure Western Release Date
Trails to Zero will launch in fall 2022, and its direct sequel, Trails to Azure, is planned for 2023. Since Reverie concludes the story begun in these games, it’s likely Azure would release earlier in 2023.
Legend of Nayuta Release Date
Nayuta is also planned for a vague 2023 release date. It’s an action-RPG spinoff set in a world vaguely similar to Zemuria in the mainline Trails games and never saw a release outside Japan.
As yet, NIS America has not announced a localization plan for Kuro no Kiseki, scheduled for a September 2021 release in Japan. However, with four text-heavy projects underway at once, that’s to be expected.
And if you’re thinking that’s a lot of Trails, you’re right. Lucky for you, we’ve already covered how they all fit together and why they’re worth spending time on.
