But what about the games? While the first year is full of interesting titles in which to invest your time, the launch lineup itself is quite small. Luckily, there are a few games that are must-plays for the new Nintendo console. Here are 3 launch titles you just have to get.

Fast RMX

While only an eShop title, Fast RMX is essential for anyone wanting some F-Zero-like racing. Previously known as Fast Racing NEO, Fast RMX is an remix meant to show the power the Nintendo Switch possesses. Showcasing the Nintendo Switch’s hardware, Fast RMX runs at a stellar 60 FPS at 1080p resolution. This graphical fidelity is used to create beautiful tracks for the player to race in. Speed through stunning storms, fantastic canyons, and colorful cities.

Fast RMX focuses on adrenaline fueled racing to keep players engaged. Players must use a phasing system to gain speed and win the 10 Cups on offer. For those looking for friendly competition, Fast RMX offers 4-player split screen racing and 8-player online action. At a price point of $19.99, Fast RMX is also the cheapest title of this list. Engage in fast paced racing with Fast RMX.

Super Bomberman R

Super Bomberman R marks the grand return of the enjoyable Bomberman series. Considered a premier party/action game, Bomberman pits up to eight online players against each other in maps reminiscent of previous Bomberman games. For local multiplayer, you can have up to four players per Switch battle each other. Engage in energetic combat as you bomb each other into oblivion.

For those looking for a single-player campaign, don’t worry. There is a 50-level campaign that can be played either solo or with a friend. In said campaign, take part in five boss battles and defend the world from the Evil Emperor Buggler. For those interested in explosive combat, you can’t go wrong with Super Bomberman R.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is clearly the killer app for the Nintendo Switch’s launch. Adventure through an open-world as you explore dungeons, find treasure, and save the world. Taking a different direction than recent Zelda games, Breath of the Wild focuses on a fully explorable world, one that is not blocked by item progression. You can take on the final boss from the beginning, but, of course, it would extremely difficult to do so.

Breath of the Wild still shares many similarities to its predecessors, primarily the first game. Exploration is key and dungeons are laid out in a way that challenges the player. Combat is similar to the 3D Zeldas, but relies more heavily on different bows and weapons. With Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, be prepared to experience Zelda like you never have before.

These games stand above the rest of the Switch’s launch library. With these games, the Nintendo Switch can provide hours of entertainment right off the bat. The Nintendo Switch is on store shelves right now, retailing for $299 in the U.S.
