[UPDATED] Evolve is a Next Gen Multiplayer Shooter from the Creators of Left 4 Dead

So it's kind of like Left 4 Dead meets Monster Hunter.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

By the time you are reading this story, Game Informer will have revealed their latest cover showcasing the new title by Turtle Rock Studios; best known for creating Left 4 Dead. In Evolve, there is a similar multiplayer format in which 4 players face off against a single powerful monster controlled by another player.

The game is running on CryEngine 3 and was originally being published by THQ, but is now being brought to market by 2K.

Information on the game is sparse at the moment, but I will be updating this story as Game Informer officially reveals the game in a matter of minutes.

UPDATE: I added the GameInformer cover and here is what they’ve revealed about the game so far:

  • 2K paid 10.8 million dollars to acquire the IP during the THQ auction.
  • Over the course of a match, the monster gets considerably more powerful… so the 4 vs 1 format is not unbalanced at all.
  • As you can tell by the cover, there are various hunter classes with different abilities.
  • GameInformer will have a 12 page article with shots and impressions from their exclusive hands-on time with the game.
