For those of you following the progress of Dying Light, the first-person, action survival horror game currently in-development from Techland, today’s news might be something of a bummer.
The game’s release date is now scheduled an entire year later for February 2015.
According to their press release, development of the “Natural Movement” game mechanics is to blame for the time delay.
We believe the Natural Movement element of our game will change what you expect from the genre, and we don’t want to sacrifice any of its potential by releasing too early. This quality-focused thinking underlines all our development choices and we hope you share our belief that the gameplay must always come first.
Whether you share their belief in the quality of gameplay or not, you’re still going to have to wait for the release of the game. However, all is not lost. Starting next month at E3 2014, Techland will be sharing updates and exciting features of Dying Light. An excellent opportunity to see where all the extra work is going.
