You can make your Minecraft gameplay much more enjoyable with the help of special mods that will turn all the environments in the game into real eye-candy. These mods are called “shaders” and apart from a number of default Minecraft shaders, which don’t offer too much, you can install third-party mods that will do a much better job.
This selection focuses on some of the most realistic-looking shaders for Minecraft 1.10 and above. So, if you’re tired of looking at the same old colors and animations, then go ahead and try some of these great mods.
Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders
You can describe the SEUS mod in one word – breathtaking. Everything from air to water, plants and trees just looks super alive and organic. The wind animation turns every movement into a beautiful dance of gentle colors and shapes.
The best thing about the SEUS mod is the lighting, which is head and shoulders above the vanilla one. It is perfectly transparent and does not tire your eyes. Actually, you want to be in this environment more and more because everything just looks so pleasant.
Chocapic13’s Shaders
This is a special mod, although not as cool as the Sonic Ether’s. However, if you like rainy weather and stormy nights in Minecraft (for example, when you play a zombie mini-game with your friends), then Chocapic13’s Shaders should be your first choice.
The mod creates a simply unbelievably spooky atmosphere in the nighttime and makes the fog look so much creepier. Try to spawn at night in the swampland using this mod and you will know how awesome everything looks.
MrMeep’ Shaders
This mod is an opposite experience of the Chocapic13’s Shaders creepy mod. MrMeep’ Shaders provide a brighter sense of light in the morning and when the sun settles down, the light fades away in a very slow pace.
It doesn’t mean that there is no contrast here, on the contrary, the shadows are deep and rich with this mod, but you do need to find a forest to see them. And, if you come really close to any source of light, whether a torch or even the sun, you will notice a gorgeous lens flare effect.
Werrus Shaders
Werrus Shaders was designed to bring subtlety to Minecraft’s night and darkness. It’s going to be really dark in Minecraft with this mod installed, but it will be very smooth, so that you will still see the shapes of the objects.
Again, it is perfect for those types of maps, where you like to play your creepy mini-games. The moon light will be your only source of light and it still depends on whether there will be no clouds in the sky. It is highly recommended to use this mod on high FPS.
KUDA Shaders
One of the most highly anticipated shaders mods for Minecraft 1.10 is finally out of the beta test stage. It is now available in its full version after a very long period of development.
KUDA Shaders is known for its perfect balance of such effects as motion blur, lens flare, volumetric fog, natural object movements, and many other things. On top of that, you can control weather with the help of this mod and choose what kind of mood you want to set for your game: sunny or rainy, warm or cold, light or dark.
Sildur's Shaders
The most intriguing part of this simple yet effective shaders mod is the dynamic lighting, which you can experience on the video above. Many of you might think that brightness is a simple thing to accomplish, but Sildur’s Shaders goes farther than any other similar mod, when it comes to lighting modification in Minecraft.
You also want to travel to The End with this mod installed and you will be surprised at how significantly better it’ll look. So, if you want to make your gameplay brighter and more vibrant, then consider downloading and installing the Sildur’s Shaders.
