Now that Fortnite is officially back with Chapter 2, many of the upgrade, progression, and weapons systems you’ve gotten to know have been significantly altered. And some, like the medal punchcard system, are brand-new.
The Fortnite medal punchcard system is separate from the XP missions, which can be cycled at your leisure. But they still help you earn XP faster so you can level up your battle pass. Here’s what you need to know about the new system.
Fortnite Medal Punchcard System
Before we get into how the punchcard works, its worth noting that as of this writing, the punchcard can get stuck on the screen on the PS4 version. Unfortunately, at this point, there’s no fix except to wait for a patch to resolve the issue. Closing and re-opening won’t fix it, and neither will uninstalling and reinstalling.
Now, onto the punchard.
The medals essentially serve the role of daily missions for earning experience and increasing your battle pass rank, but they are a little more flexible and can be earned by newer players who aren’t as skilled yet.
The punchchard can be filled up with any of the medals — you don’t have to do one of each type, for instance — and you can bump up the ranking of the medal from bronze to silver to gold by completing it again with higher numbers.
There may be more based on other types of actions, but here are all the medals we’ve discovered so far:
- First Match Medal: Play your first game of the day
- Scavenger Medal: Search 3 / 7 / 10 chests, supply drops, or llamas
- Battle Medal: Get 1 / 4 / 8 eliminations in a match
- Survivor Medal: Survive to top 50 / 25 / 10 players in a match
- Sniper Medal: Get a long-distance sniper kill of 100m or more
- Fishing Medal: Go fishing using the new poles
While these medals are for solo matches, note there are also teamwork medals for earning assists in duo or squad modes. The medals reset each day after 24 hours, which means you’ll get more rewards if you keep logging in each day and repeat the medals over and over.
