Machine Guns have seen a big resurgence in Destiny 2 following significant buffs with the Lightfall expansion. With the addition of the Strand element, there are new ways to play with them. The Circular Logic is one such weapon, a Strand Machine Gun with some of the best PvE options for an MG in the game. It’s also no slouch in PvP if used correctly. Here’s how to get it and what god rolls you should look for.
How to Get the Circular Logic Machine Gun in Destiny 2
Unlike the Iterative Loop Fusion Rifle or Round Robin Hand Cannon, there’s no guaranteed way to farm the Circular Logic. The randomness of how you get it can make earning a craftable version a real slog. Getting the five Deepsight Resonant versions of the weapon can be a major pain, but it’s hard to beat for a Strand build.
Here are the three best ways to get a Circular Logic Machine Gun in Destiny 2:
- As a reward for completing a Legend Patrol. These yellow-icon patrols rarely appear in the current Vex Incursion Zone, and completing them always awards a Neomuna weapon that has a chance to be Deepsight enhanced.
- From the locked chest at the end of a Terminal Overload activity.
- By turning in Neomuna vendor engrams once you reach rank 30 reputation. These also have the chance to be Deepsight enhanced.
Circular Logic Machine Gun PvE and PvP God Rolls
Machine Guns are no longer the black sheep of Destiny 2 PvE and PvP. While most aren’t great for things like boss DPS or for taking on enemy Guardians, the Circular Logic can hold its own in both activities as either add control or supplemental damage.
You’ll want to optimize its controllability first and foremost, as it has a bit of kick. Damage output is a close second.
Circular Logic PvE God Roll
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake, Chambered Compensator
- Magazine: Extended Magazine, Armor-Piercing Rounds
- Trait 1: Envious Assassin, Feeding Frenzy
- Trait 2: Hatchling, Target Lock, Demolitionist
The Strand-exclusive Hatchling perk on a Machine Gun makes it possible to spawn an almost infinite number of Threadlings, and if you couple it with either magazine overflow from Envious Assassin or the faster reload of Feeding Frenzy and your damage uptime will be massive.
Target Lock is a great secondary option for sustained damage, and Demolitionist pairs well with grenade-centric builds.
Circular Logic PvP God Roll
- Barrel: Arrowhead Break, Corkscrew Rifling
- Magazine: Armored-Piercing Rounds, Ricochet Rounds
- Trait 1: Keep Away, Offhand Strike
- Trait 2: Target Lock, Vorpal Weapon
There aren’t as many top-tier PvP god roll options for Circular Logic, but if you have some combination of the above perks and keep yourself at a moderate distance from your enemies, taking them out at range can be a dream.
With the god rolls outlined here, you can take the latest Machine Gun to grace Destiny 2 into almost any activity and do well. The Circular Logic is also craftable, so you can have one if you want a version for PvE and PvP. For more god roll guides, check out our articles on the Regnant, Eyasluna, and the Cataclysmic.
