8-Bit Cinema, part of the always-excellent CineFix, has created an affectionately gory homage to Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill (Vol. 1 and 2).
While the two-minute clip lacks several important backflashes and character development scenes, it does nail all the major fights. A pixelated version of The Bride takes out each member of the Deadly Viper Assassin Squad to a brilliant chip-tune interpretation of the iconic Kill Bill soundtrack.
Fans might be disappointed that they won’t be seeing 8-bit Pai Mei nor an 8-bit version of The Bride wiggling her big toe in the bag of Buck’s Pussy Wagon, but I guess we can’t have it all.
Including Kill Bill, 8-Bit Cinema has now released a total of 27 videos of “Your favorite movies retold as old school NES/SNES/arcade games.” This list includes such movies as Mean Girls, Donnie Darko, The Fifth Element, Anchor Man, The Big Leboski, The Hunger Games, Blade Runner, Iron Man, Kick-Ass, and more.
The full list of 8-Bit Cinema’s videos can be found as a playlist on CineFix’s YouTube page, here.
