MechWarrior Online has released a new premium mech thats touting a little more than just its fighting capability. This particular mech is entirely for the benefit of cancer research.
Pirahna Games has begun taking orders for “Sarah’s Jenner,” a variant model of the game’s JR7-D mech, with the in-game name JR7-D(S). The name comes from Sarah Marie Alida Parries, a five year old player of the MechWarrior game. Sarah sadly passed away from brain cancer last May. The new mech, dedicated to her, can be purchased for $10, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. The new mech comes with its own housing as well, so it won’t take up space in a player’s Mech Bay. Only one JR7-D(S) can be purchased per player account, but for those who want to donate more, Pirahna encourages you to do so through several links on the bottom of the new Mech’s FAQ page.
MechWarrior Online is currently in free-to-play open beta, and will be launching the full game on September 17th. Stay tuned to Gameskinny and the Team Timelords facebook page for more gaming news and possible updates on MechWarrior Online.
