Fan of JRPGs?
Well, if you are, I’ve got some news for you. Agarest: Generations of War has just appeared on Steam Greenlight. An extremely deep turn based strategy JRPG with elements from visual novels, I played it a couple of years ago on my 360 and enjoyed it immensely. Featuring huge amounts of content, a large list of playable characters, and a relationship system that allows you to have children to continue the fight when your current character grows old, I remember being able to barely scratch the surface after roughly 20-25 hours with the game.
So what’s so special?
Well, one of the major strengths consoles have had over PCs has been the simple fact that most Japanese games don’t ever get a PC port. Usually, this is due to a lack of demand on the part of PC gamers, and the much larger available fanbase on Consoles, most notably the Playstation 3. But as PC gaming grows ever cheaper and more widespread, the demand for good JRPGs has definitely increased.
Ghostlight LTD are in charge of the localization of the game for the western world, and are no stranger to it. If you are familiar with the Digital Devil Saga series of Shin Megami Tensei games, SMT: Nocturne was one of their first major efforts at localizing what seems to be an ever shrinking niche genre in today’s gaming world.

Head on over to the the link here, and hit yes. The more games like this that make it through the Greenlight process, the more the East might take note of the popularity of this genre of games. I for one would love to see my favorite game, Skies of Arcadia, receive an HD remastered PC version. What games would you like to see make it to the PC?
