If you thought Among Us skipping Nintendo Switch was a little bit sus, then developer InnerSloth had good news for you during Nintendo’s December IndieWorld showcase. The multiplayer deceit game is out on Switch now for $5.00, and it supports cross-platform play with PC and mobile.
Among Us puts 4-10 players together in outer space as they try to complete various assignments and tasks, all with the goal of completing their lofty mission. The catch is, at least one among the party is an imposter with their own gruesome checklist focused on sabotaging everything or killing other players, who can then turn into ghosts.
When that happens, or if crew members think they know who the imposter is, it’s time to hold a meeting and decide who gets cast into the cold void of space by voting out (who they think is) the imposter.
Among Us won big at The Game Awards 2020, nabbing awards for best mobile game and best multiplayer game, going up against the likes of Call of Duty: Mobile, Genshin Impact, Valorant, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
It’s all with good reason, though: Among Us was — and still is — one of 2020’s most popular titles. It’s currently sitting at #9 on Steam Charts thanks to YouTubers and content creators streaming it over the summer. It’s quirkiness quickly caught on like wildfire.
There’s no word on if or when Among Us may come to other consoles, though PS4 and Xbox One versions have been rumored. Stay tuned as we learn more.
