Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma says the upcoming Wii U title is "all that is on our minds."

Aonuma promises Zelda Wii U team is trying to finish the game “as fast as possible”

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma says the upcoming Wii U title is "all that is on our minds."

Many fans of The Legend of Zelda series have been waiting patiently (well, maybe some of us not-so-patiently) for more info about the upcoming Zelda title for the Wii U, and perhaps we won’t have to wait too much longer.

As part of a feature article on the new The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes, the magazine Famitsu interviewed series producer Eiji Aonuma about the new game and the series as a whole. When asked about any plans for the 30th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series next year, Aonuma instead focused on the upcoming Wii U title:

This year we wanted a Majora’s Mask concert, so it is not impossible that there may be a 30th anniversary concert next year. However, as we are trying to complete the new Zelda as fast as possible, that is all that is on our minds. That being said, we hope something will take form for the 30th anniversary. It is especially important to a producer of the series, so I hope to give something everyone can look forward to next year.

Aonuma did not say much else about the highly-anticipated game, but he did ask fans to wait just a little bit longer while they finish, saying:

“We’re doing our best. Everyday we improve it bit by bit. It is something that requires plenty of time, however, so please believe in us and wait.”

It’s good to know that the new game is their highest priority at the moment. Hopefully the wait won’t be too long, but I for one would rather wait longer for a good game than get a mediocre game quickly.

Do you have any hopes for what might “take form” for the anniversary celebration next year? How about the new game? Let us know in the comments!
