The new poster included silhouettes of four main characters in their standard assassin hoods. This caused people to believe that there were two possibilities –  that there is a four player co-op or that Unity would allow you to play four main characters throughout the campaign.

And the winner is…

Ubisoft revealed that there is a four player co-op and that the game is set in Revolutionary-Era France. The gameplay trailer looks stunning as 18th century France is the perfect backdrop to create wonderful visuals and plenty of content and French architecture for your assassin to maneuver.

Mixed reactions to the news has popped up on Twitter and other social media sites with some players wishing Ubisoft said that you could hire crews again like in Brotherhood, or that you’d have four main characters to play like in the popular GTA V.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and is expected in the 2014 holiday season.
