Atomic Heart Trailer Reveals Weird, Wacky Bioshock-Style Fun

Ready to use atomic powers to bash killer robots and make the Motherland proud? Atomic Heart just got a new trailer and a 44-minute gameplay teaser!
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

If you’ve been jonesing for the oddity found in the Bioshock franchise, it’s crazy enemies and player abilities, you’ll want to pay attention to Atomic Heart. While the Bioshock-meets-Fallout RPG has been in development for some time, the game’s official trailer just dropped.

The new trailer released by Mundfish, the game’s development crew, showcases some of the interesting player powers and robotic enemies found in the game.

While it has no official release date, Atomic Heart is expected to release later this year.

When it finally lands on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, Atomic Heart will put players in the role of special agent P-3. Exploring an alternate universe during the high noon of the Soviet Union, something goes terribly wrong, and it’s up to P-3 to restore order, end the insanity, and make the Motherland proud.

A 44-minute gameplay video also recently came online courtesy of YouTuber Alexey Makarenkov, which can be seen below. The clip highlights some of the odd combat maneuvers in Atomic Heart, from telekinesis to robotic resurrection bees.

According to reports, it’s unclear if Atomic Heart is an open-world game like the those found in the Fallout series, or if it features a semi-open-world like Bioshock Infinite. However, we do know that the game will feature a crafting system that focuses on makeshift weaponry. Though, we’re sure more traditional weapons will be involved as well.

The RPG is a single-player experience, but the developers are exploring co-op and multiplayer possibilities.

Atomic Heart is one GameSkinny’s most-anticipated games of 2020 — if it actually release this year. Fingers crossed.
