Michael Angeli, writer for the TV shows Battlestar Galactica and Monk, has stated that he has been working with God of War studio Santa Monica on a brand new game. The announcement was made this week during a Comic-Con panel. He mentions that his experience writing Battlestar Galactica and his journalism background is what helped him land the job with Santa Monica.

According to Angeli, he has been with the project for the past 2.5 years. He also said that after God of War: Ascension wrapped 150 staffers were moved over to the new title.

Unfortunately, not much information could be given out as the title has yet to be announced. Angeli did reveal that the title will not be related to the God of War franchise – meaning an entirely new game.

There is speculation that it might be related to the secret message decoded by players earlier this year. Hidden in God of War: Ascension is an image of Earth with the message, “When the Earth stops, the journey begins…”

Santa Monica has yet to comment on Angeli or the new project. We’re just going to have to wait on this one.
