In the modern age of instant information, we can often get hints of things we otherwise never could have predicted from unexpected places.  One of the places that we can watch for news and rumors that may not be as immediately obvious is job listings, and that very practice looks to have given a hint that something new is coming.

Bethesda Game Studios has posted a job opening for prospective programmers.  The job is for “experienced programmers to work on cutting-edge technology for an unannounced game on future-generation consoles.”

Anyone thinking of applying needs to be sure they have five years of experience in game development, during which time they need to have been a part of multiple games that have actually shipped.  The listing does specify that applicants must have “extensive experience” with Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, though no further specificity is given about that experience, but that having experience with DirectX 11 and/or with Bethesda in the past are both positive.
