Today, during the BlizzCon preshow, Blizzard surprised fans with a cereal ad. It was unclear whether or not the ad was a real thing or if Blizzard was having fun.
Until, that is, the pre-show hosts Alex Albrecht and Michelle Marrow excitedly said, “It’s real!”, and Michelle ate a bowl of them on air.
Lucio-ohs, a cereal that started life as a spray in Blizzard’s popular shooter Overwatch, is now a real breakfast item manufactured by Kelloggs.
Today may not be the first time you’ve heard of the real-life cereal. Over a year ago, fans begged Blizzard to make the spray a real-world item — even creating a change.org petition for it.
Even more recently, pictures of the cereal box were leaked online. Neither Blizzard nor Kelloggs would confirm the authenticity of the leak. But today, we know it’s legitimate.
Not only did Blizzard reveal the cereal, they also announced that players will get a free loot boost code in every box.
Lucio-ohs will be available to purchase in stores this December.
