Bungie Hyping Destiny’s House of Wolves DLC with Mini-Reveals

Bungie dumps first details on Destiny's upcoming DLC!

“The Reef will open to all Guardians, and you will join the allies of the Queen to destroy the traitorous Fallen from the House of Wolves.”

To someone who’s never played Destiny (me? don’t be silly) that sentence might be a string of post-Paradise-Lost gibberish.  Cryptic nonsense or no, Destiny’s third course, House of Wolves, is coming May 19th.

(Kidding, of course, I know what the top quote means.  Now.  After a lot of research, maybe.)

The Dark Below gave us three new story missions, a new Strike, a Raid, three multiplayer maps, and of course, new weapons/armor.  How does House of Wolves stack up against that?

  • No Raid – not with House of Wolves, anyway.  Bungie’s cooking up a new Raid for later this year; they say they’ve been “humbled” by the fans’ responses to other Destiny Raids.
  • New battle arena for end game called The Prison of Elders
  • Another end game thing (no deets yet) called Trials of Osiris

Bungie’s released a timeline of mini-reveals.  The first event, in two weeks, we’ll see more of The Reef and the new upgrade paths for your gear.  A week later, they’ll show us end game gear and what the Trials of Osiris are.  A week after that, an in-depth look into The Prison of Elders.  Another mini-reveal has been announced for May 8th, but no word on what knowledge they’re dropping.
