Released today, a new trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has been put out by activision.
*HOUSE OF CARDS SPOILER ALERT*
The game, developed by Sledgehammer Games, seems to have unashamedly hijacked House of Cards character Frank Underwood. And Kevin seems to be going along with it.
In the trailer, he tells of a world that does not want freedom, but “boundaries, rules.” It seems as if COD has now annexed two parallel universes that somehow conglomerate into one mad universe, where Kevin Spacey is the American President who plays Call of Duty, whilst simultaneously beinga powerful figure (allegedly head of a private military corporation) in Call of Duty land.
Sucked into the videogame “TV Mike” style whilst relieving stress from his day at the Whitehouse, Mr. Spacey is now the “all seeing eye” of the mass media world, surveying us mere pawns; making sure we are adhering to his ways, while watching every form of medium he could possibly exist in.
It looks damn cool though, and I’m not particularly a fan of the last 5 years of COD. But I am a sucker for hollywood A-listers in video games. If they can inject some new life into this franchise and create an infatuating storyline, I might be sold for the first time in a long time.
