This new Shadowgate, developed by Zojoi and Reverb Triple XP, originally appeared back in late 2012 on the crowd-funding website Kickstarter. Successfully reaching and passing its goal of $120,000, Shadowgate is now entering closed beta. You can check out Shadowgate‘s Kickstarter campaign here.

Shadowgate is a classic adventure game featuring hand-crafted scenes and detail. The rendition features a massive amount of new quests, objects to interact with, and puzzles that will make you rack your mind for answers. In addition, Shadowgate features many throwbacks to the original version so both veterans and newcomers to the series will all be welcome.

“The last thing that you remember is standing before the wizard Lakmir as he gestured wildly and chanted in an archaic tongue. Now you find yourself staring at an entryway which lies at the edge of a forest.”

Like its predecessor, Shadowgate will be distributed on Mac platforms as well as PC. For those of you on the go, Shadowgate will also be available on Android Tablets and iOS devices so you can take your adventure with you wherever you go and pick up where you left off.

Closed beta access is available to those who helped in backing the Kickstarter campaign as well as those who select the “Hero” tier when ordering the game for $24.99. Shadowgate is expected to be fully released late this summer starting at $19.99, however if you pre-order the PC or Mac versions you can currently receive a 25% discount.
