Yes, you’ve read that right. The flagship tournament of Counter-Strike 1.6 is now investing its resources for Dota 2. CEVO, or Cyber Evolution, is focused into bringing Dota 2 to the masses with its open tournament for the North American Dota 2 community.
Judging from the banner, there is no League of Legends or Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm in sight. On a side note there’s a Team Fortress 2 tournament (that should be fun!).
“CEVO Season 3 will feature $1,500 dollars worth of prize money for Dota 2 split between the two divisions. Each week, teams will play 2 games in the Main division, and one game in the Open division. The season is set to run for 8 weeks of league play. At its conclusion, the top 8 Main teams and the top 16-32 teams in Open will battle in best of three, double-elimination playoffs.”
This Dota 2 tournament is open for any team to join, as well as amateur casters who would like to cast the matches for the span of 8 weeks may contact them for more info in their website.
