Bringing video games to the big screen (or even the small one) is big business – and it seems Disney may be trying to get in on that action again.

According to Twitter user JennyWPratt:

There was a rumor floating around at Wondercon about Disney interested in making a big animated Banjo-Kazooie film w/ Microsoft for 2018/19

— Jenny P. (@JennyWPratt) April 6, 2015

This was soon followed by clarification on the rumor:

The rumor was about having the “Wreck It Ralph” team write and direct the Banjo-Kazooie film.

If the rumor proves true, this could be the first major film Disney has based on a video game since 2010’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, based on Ubisoft Montreal’s 2003 game Prince of Persia.

It’s too soon to get your hopes up just yet – though a film like this could mean more exposure for Microsoft’s Banjo-Kazooie games, this rumor has not yet been confirmed by Disney or Microsoft.
