Days Gone The First of Several PlayStation Games Coming to PC

Days Gone is coming to PC, and SIE boss Jim Ryan says its just the first of several PlayStation games making the jump to PC.

More PlayStation games are coming to PC, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said in an exclusive new interview with GQ Magazine. Days Gone leads the way with a PC port planned for spring 2021, though Sony still has plenty in store for its consoles.

Ryan said:

We find ourselves now in early 2021 with our development studios and the games that they make in better shape than they’ve ever been before. Particularly from the latter half of the PS4 cycle our studios made some wonderful, great games.

There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognize the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward.

Days Gone developer Bend Studio confirmed Ryan’s comments shortly after the interview was published.

In 2020, Sony released Death Stranding and Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC, marking the first time Sony exclusives appeared on other platforms. While rumors from 2020 indicated Sony would release Bloodborne on PC, Ryan made no mention of what other PlayStation games may appear on PC or when.

In a separate interview with Famitsu that Video Games Chronicle translated, Ryan rebuffed rumors from multiple sources that Sony is ignoring Japanese developers. Following up on comments he made in December about a number of exciting Japanese-developed games in store, Ryan said:

SIE also has strong relationships with licensees in Japan, so we will continue to strengthen our ties with them and develop titles made in Japan for PlayStation fans around the world.

What these may be is still under wraps, though one of them is Final Fantasy 16, first shown off during the PlayStation 5 reveal event and currently well underway in development. Stay tuned for more updates.
