DayZ On Console? Probably.

Dean Hall spoke with Sony about a console port for DayZ, and they are interested.
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

Dean Hall has been busy.  Between his talks at GDC and the increasingly-exciting development of the DayZ standalone, his name has been showing up all over the net.  The most recent example comes close on the heels of a meeting with Sony.  What does DayZ have to do with a console company?  A console port, obviously.

As Hall told Escapist, “Certainly I think if we don’t, for want of a better word, ‘fuck up’ the PC release then I would say a console port is almost certain…”  The game is still a ways off from release, most recent announcements saying they plan on going into alpha testing no sooner than June–but the amount of excitement and anticipation has clearly gotten some very serious attention.

Hall further acknowledged that Sony is interested in a possible port for the standalone game once it is completed, leaving the rest of us back where we started…

Anxiously counting the days until we can get our hands on the finished DayZ, on whatever platform.
