As of Sunday, August 14th, it’s safe to consider DC’s short-lived superhero MOBA to be officially dead. Not dead like Superman, who shrugged it off like it was an unexpected nap. Dead like Thomas and Martha Wayne. Deceased. In the ground. No take-backsies.

“This was an extremely difficult decision to make,” says developer Turbine in their official blog statement. “On behalf of the entire Infinite Crisis team we want to thank all of you for your feedback, support and for joining together to create one of the best communities in gaming.”

While the game wasn’t without its merits, the decision to pull the plug comes as no surprise to many fans.

Among those who speak in the game’s defense, reddit user SuperCheeseNugget had this to say:

Infinite Crisis will remain playable until August 14th, when it will be laid to rest alongside Guardians of Middle-Earth, publisher WB’s previous foray into the genre. Here’s to hoping that like Thomas and Martha Wayne, Infinite Crisis will serve as an example, perhaps to inspire future installments in the genre to aspire for more.
